Note: Program Fees are designed to cover the costs of aftercare for the three years following surgery. Insurance reimbursements are not sufficient to provide the services that are essential for the long-term success of the gastric bypass patient. The program is presented as a package to minimize the expense to you, the patient. Many of the services would not be covered by your insurance should they be billed out individually, and the overall cost to you, the patient, would be well in excess of the cost of the package.

The program covers all office visits, classes, counseling, educational materials, support group, and website. All charges that would be incurred during the course of NORMAL recovery and follow-up are included. If a complication requiring additional procedures should arise, charges for such would be billed to your insurance.

Program Schedule

Post-op week 1: Office visit, drain removal (if needed)
Post-op week 2: Office visit, diet advancement
Post-op week 4: Office visit, dietary counseling (Program staff)
Post-op week 6: Office visit, diet advancement
                           Nutrition class - must be scheduled (Dietitian)
                           Exercise class - must be scheduled - extra cost item
Post-op 3 months: Office visit, dietary counseling (program staff)
Post-op 6 months: Office visit, dietary counseling (program staff)
                           Nutrition Class 2 - must be scheduled (Dietitian)
Post-op 9 months: Office visit, dietary counseling (program staff)
Post-op 12 months: Office visit, dietary counseling (program staff)
                           Nutrition Class 3 - must be scheduled (Dietitian)
Post-op 15 months: Office visit, dietary counseling (program staff)
Post-op 18 months: Office visit, dietary counseling (program staff)
Post-op 24 months: Office visit, dietary counseling (program staff)
                           Nutrition class 3, repeated - must be scheduled (Dietitiian)
Post-op 30 months: Office visit, dietary counseling (program staff)
Post-op 36 months: Office visit, dietary counseling, discharge planning
                           Nutrition class 3, repeated - must be scheduled (Dietitiian)

You may continue to schedule office visits anytime after 36 months at no additional charge.

Labs ordered: CBC, CMP, Lipid panel, Iron & IBC, B12 & Folate, Bone density tests

Other Services: Support Group, RemedyMD tracking software, Education materials, assistance with Plastic Surgery approvals
